LeadershipChair: Kim Meier 785.650.0385 kshpkpha@yahoo.com To KSHP membership: KPhA had an excellent meeting in Topeka on Oct. 3rd. KSHP Academy had a roundtable session with KSHP members present in which good discussion was made regarding what health-systems pharmacists would like to see from KPhA-KSHP. Some of the important issues facing KSHP are retention and recruitment of members, supporting pharmacists in dual roles of community and hospital practice, and increasing communication between members. KSHP will also strive to keep apprised of governmental affairs. KSHP Academy has been charged with developing/modifying the charter for the academy by January 2010. Below is a tentative charter for review and comment. Please email concerns or changes to kshpkpha@yahoo.com. Be watching for more information and to vote on the KSHP Academy Charter in December. We have also been charged with establishing KSHP Academy leadership. I am calling for nominations for assistant chair and secretary/treasurer. This is an excellent opportunity to be intimately involved in shaping the future of your professional organization. Please contact me as soon as possible at if you are interested or know of anyone who would be a good candidate for a leadership role. With health-system pharmacists’ participation we have the ability to form KSHP into the organization representing health-systems pharmacists of Kansas that health-systems pharmacists’ want and need.
