Clinical Assistant Professor - Pharmacy Practice

The University of Kansas, School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice, is seeking candidates for a 12-month Clinical Assistant Professor position housed on the Lawrence, Kansas campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching in skills-related coursework in the didactic curriculum.

Job responsibilities will include teaching in Pharmacy Practice Skills Lab settings including but not limited to: developing and facilitating educational experiences including simulations; performance assessment and providing feedback to Pharmacy students; maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies; advising students; and service to the department and school.

The Department of Pharmacy Practice expects its instructors to contribute to the mission and goals of the Department and School in the areas of teaching and service. Salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and expertise of the individual. On site lab instruction is required to be performed in person and on campus.

• 70% Teaching:
• Coordination and instruction of courses in the Pharm.D. curriculum assigned by the Chair of Pharmacy Practice or the Chair's designee.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues teaching in the Pharmacy Skills series.
• Provide assessment support for live performance assessment activities across the Pharmacy Practice curriculum.
• May coordinate one elective course per year in the PharmD curriculum as needed.
• Specific course assignments and locations are at the discretion of the Department of Pharmacy Practice Chair, although the instructor may be consulted about preferences.
• Create timelines for standardized patient encounters for all Pharmacy Skills courses for the upcoming academic year. Work with Performance Assessment Coordinators on both the Lawrence and Wichita campuses to reserve required rooms and resources.
• Precept P4 students as part of the School's summer camp program offered to high school students.
• Reset and resupply all standardized patient encounter rooms. Work with KU IT to ensure all computers and cameras in the SP center are functional.
• Present topic(s) as part of incoming P1 student onboarding/orientation efforts.

• 20% Service:
• Support the Profession, University, School of Pharmacy, and Department through involvement on various committees and organizations.
• Serve as advisor for PharmD students as assigned by the Dean's Office
• Serve as an adviser for pharmacy student organization(s) within the School.
• Serve the community as a valued health care professional and citizen by providing community education and professional lectures, which may be assigned by Chair or the Chair's designee.

• 10% Scholarship
• Participate in scholarship resulting in conference presentations, peer-reviewed published manuscripts, peer-reviewed instructional materials, or invited lectures or presentations
  

LTC Pharmacist - CHS Pharmacy

CHS Pharmacy has an opening for a dedicated professional to join our team. Located in Cimarron, KS, our closed-door pharmacy serves local nursing homes, group homes and other similar facilities. We have an immediate need for an experienced Pharmacist working up to 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday, with rotating Saturday's and also taking call. Hours worked per week can be flexible if you are not looking for Full-Time. 

The listed position for a LTC pharmacist includes a variety of responsibilities, including prescription verification, reviewing medication profiles for interactions and appropriate therapy, processing new admissions and medication changes/orders, communicating with nurses and prescribers to clarify orders, overseeing pharmacy technicians and dispensing workflow, and assisting with medication availability, insurance and clinical concerns. This pharmacist will be on their feet the majority of the day. Candidates must display high attention to detail, have strong organization skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must have an active Kansas Registered Pharmacist license in good standing with the Kansas Board of Pharmacy prior to start date. Previous LTC work experience preferred, but not required.
