Volunteer opportunities

• KU School of Pharmacy - OSLE Assessors needed, Wichita and Lawrence
• We are seeking pharmacist volunteers to help evaluate students in our simulation center this academic year. Our primary need is for our third-year students, whose simulations tie together all of their didactic learning from previous years.
• Our simulations typically run from ~12:30 pm to 5:00 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays at various times throughout the year, with the majority being held in the Spring semester.
• For all volunteer instructors, we will send out material approximately a week ahead of time, which includes the case information, actor scripts, grading rubrics, and, for most simulations, a video example from a previous year. Parking at the School of Pharmacy will be provided at no cost.

• Pharmacy Pals - November 22nd 12-4pm
• Pharmacy Pals is a family-focused event being hosted in collaboration with APhA-ASP, Phi Lambda Sigma, and the Global Pharmacy Society. We will be inviting local families with young children (ages 1-6-ish) to the School of Pharmacy for an afternoon of pharmacy fun. Our patient care projects and volunteering student pharmacists will be holding stations with hands-on activities while also providing parents with practical education about medications and their children's health.
• Stations will be covering topics such as immunizations, diabetes, heart health, over-the-counter medication safety, etc. Each station will pair a child-friendly activity or craft with an opportunity to provide parents with helpful health and medication information. For example, we will be decorating cookies at the diabetes station while the student pharmacists share signs and symptoms or pediatric diabetes with the parents.
• Whether you would like to help with one of our stations, interact with families and answer questions, or simply attend and support the event, we would be very grateful to have you involved.
